To Directors and Shop Floor Supervisors at home and overseas. In depth knowledge of Logistics in the aviation, electronics and fuel industries. Strong advocate of using International Standards especially ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001 and the Business Continuity Standard as interactive training and consultancy tools to improve company and organisation performance and planning. Believes that the success of most SMEs lies in their ability to win new business, the strength of their internal training, and their negotiating skills in supply chain management Fascinated by the opportunities that new technology brings to designing out waste and pollution from new products. Conversant with a wide range of sectors & industries, mechanical engineering, electronics, plastics industry, fmcg’s, also business support through Hull University. Worked within a European context with related ‘sister’ companies in France, Germany and Belgium. Successfully introduced business improvement projects from quality, stock control, employee engagement, manufacturing methods and techniques, kanban/lean manufacturing, warehousing and storage, Currently running a small consultancy, working with clients on the implementation of and training in ISO Quality Management Systems, particularly (9001 & 14001) Qualified Lead Auditor.

Betty Cardy, educated in Sleaford High School and Trinity College of Music London. Spent 7 years lecturing on music teaching and general education at Kesteven Training College near Grantham. Spent one year as the Head of Music at Bournemouth School for Girls. After teaching part time in Germany and UK, set up her own Music Shop in Harrogate selling and exporting instruments, sheet music and books. Spent ten years as organiser to the Nationally acclaimed Harrogate Music and Drama Festival. Sold the business successfully and moved to Lincoln with husband Brian when he worked for Short Brothers PLC at Scampton Took over as Company Secretary in 1991. Still maintains a portfolio of Piano pupils in her Piano teaching practice.

Researcher

Jennifer Ainsworth, recently graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Norwegian Studies. Speaks Norwegian and French. Currently carrying out research on Quality, Environmental, Business Continuity and Information Security issues related to International Standards Organisation Standards: ISO 9001, !4001,BS 2599 and 27001.
